President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has named his possible successors. According to him, in the future, the country's president may become an inspector for the Grodno region, Yuri Karayev, or the chairman of the Grodno regional executive committee, Vladimir Karanik.

Lukashenko said this at a meeting with the staff of one of the enterprises. An excerpt from the speech was published on the "Pool of the First" Telegram channel.

“Here I have two people of mine here, they can participate in the presidential elections. Moreover, they will be strong candidates. One general, the second governor. Young, new generation, smart. Those who know the value of this country, ”the head of Belarus said.

Lukashenko also added that the only transit of power is elections, and once again promised that his children will not lead the country after him.

It's worth reminding that after the presidential elections in Belarus in 2020, which Lukashenka won, protests were regularly held in the country. However, in late February, opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya announced “the loss of the streets” and suggested postponing the protests, possibly until spring. She later gave an interview in which she said that Lukashenka would leave the presidency in the coming months.
