The Gamaleya National Research Center, which developed the first vaccine against coronavirus registered in the Russian Federation, also released a children's form of this drug. It will be in the form of nasal drops.

"The Gamaleya Center has developed and patented the intranasal form of Sputnik V. Now its clinical trials are actually starting”, - he commented. His words are quoted by "Interfax".

Gintsburg noted that for young children this form of vaccination is especially attractive because babies start crying only at the sight of one syringe.

The drug is currently being tested in this form for possible adverse reactions. They will be completed this year, said the director of this center, Alexander Gintsburg, at a meeting on increasing the production of Russian vaccines and the rate of vaccination in the country.

Gintsburg added that vaccination of children will be possible in three age categories. At first, the drug will be available for children 12 to 17 years old. Then - from eight to 12, and after - from 3-4 years of age. Only when all of these age groups are eligible for vaccination is it possible to also approve the drug for infants.
