Ivan Belozertsev dismissed due to loss of confidence

The decree on the removal of Belozertsev from office was published by the Kremlin press service. The document says that the basis for the dismissal of the governor was pp. "G" Clause 1 of Article 19 of the Federal Law of October 6, 1999 No. 184-FZ "On the General Principles of Organization of Legislative (Representative) and Executive Bodies of State Power of the Subjects of the Russian Federation".

Before that, the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that "it cannot be ruled out" that the head of state would dismiss Belozertsev after losing confidence.

The election of the new governor will take place on a single voting day, September 19, at the same time as the elections to the State Duma.

It's worth reminding that last Sunday, the official was detained on suspicion of taking a bribe in the amount of over 31 million rubles. Pop his case, four defendants were also sent under arrest.

According to the investigation, from January to September 2020, Belozertsev received through intermediaries from the entrepreneur Boris Shpigel, his wife Yevgenia Shpigel and the director of OJSC "Pharmacy".

Bribes were transferred for the provision of competitive advantages to the Biotech group of companies headed by Boris Shpigel when concluding government contracts related to the provision of services for acceptance, quality control and expiration dates, storage, dispensing and delivery of drugs, other medical devices and reagents purchased from the budget for healthcare institutions of the Penza region. However, none of those in the case pleads guilty.
