38% of Russians would not like to move to Moscow. This is the highest indicator among the cities of Russia, according to the survey Rabota.ru. The main reasons for the reluctance to move to the capital, the respondents named stress, high housing prices and poor environment.

Social psychologist Aleksey Roshchin believes that the whole point is not in the desire of people, but in their capabilities. According to him, the Russians would like to move to Moscow if they had money. “According to objective indicators, including the continuous growth of real estate prices and the continuous growth of the population, such cities as Moscow and St. Petersburg are undoubtedly in the lead”, - he said in an interview with Sputnik radio.

At the same time, Roshchin urges not to forget that Muscovites themselves may well answer that they do not want to live in the capital. “They would say so precisely because of the increased stress, because of the crowds of people everywhere, because of the pollution from exhaust gases and because of the frantic rhythm of life”, - the psychologist emphasized. He added that residents of small towns tend to underestimate the rhythm and quality of life in Moscow.

Roshchin believes that internal migration in Russia would be greater if there was no such economic difference between the regions. “If we give people the opportunity to choose where to live, then our caravans would travel across the country from end to end. In principle, our people are naturally quite easy-going. People would love the idea of looking for something more suitable”, - he is sure.
