Solemn events in honor of this event will take place on May 9 in 377 cities and towns of Russia, he added.

The parade in Moscow will be attended by 12.5 thousand soldiers, as well as 190 units of military equipment and 76 aircraft and helicopters. The Minister of Defense added that in this year's parade they plan to use 35 samples of new or modernized equipment that had not previously been shown in parades.

Only those military personnel who have previously been vaccinated against coronavirus and have already formed antibodies in their bodies will be allowed to participate in the parade, Shoigu added. His words are quoted by Interfax.
