A man died in the crash of an Emergencies Ministry helicopter near Kaliningrad

A Ka-32 helicopter belonging to the Russian Emergencies Ministry fell into the waters of the Curonian Lagoon, five kilometers from the city of Polessk, Kaliningrad Region. As a result of the crash, one person died.

There were three people on board: one was killed, one was hospitalized, and another did not need medical assistance.

"During a planned training flight with the crew of the Ka-32 aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, communication was lost. The system 112 has been informed about the fall of the aircraft in the waters of the Curonian Lagoon, 5 km from the city Polessk", - TASS quotes message of the EMERCOM of Russia.

The Investigative Committee is considering several versions of the accident. Among them are the violation of the rules of operation and emergency on board, as well as the impact of external causes.

The department also clarified that the helicopter was serviceable, and the crew was experienced - it had flown thousands of hours.

On the fact of the crash, a criminal case was initiated under the article on violation of traffic safety rules and the operation of railway, air, sea and inland water transport and the subway.
