A trafficker of governor's posts was detained in Moscow

The detainee was charged under the article on attempted fraud on an especially large scale.

Investigators found that Nechaev learned from May to June last year that one of his acquaintances wanted to take the post of governor. The fraudster decided to cash in on the ambitions of his friend and asked for 35 million euros in exchange for help in the appointment to the desired position.

"In fact, he did not have such an opportunity and did not intend to fulfill the obligations assumed", - the Investigative Committee clarified.

Nechayev was detained when the victim gave him the first part of the requested amount. The "deal" was carried out under the control of the FSB officers.

Nechayev admitted his guilt. Note that he was previously tried for such crimes.

At present, the investigation has already been completed, and the materials of the case have been sent to the prosecutor's office for further transfer to the court.
