Prices for air tickets to regional destinations in Russia departing in April-June increased by 15-120% compared to 2019.

This is reported by the Izvestia newspaper with reference to the data of services Aviasales, Tutu.ru, Kupibilet and OneTwoTrip.

Directions from Moscow rose the most. The price of a flight to Naberezhnye Chelny increased by 121%, to Tomsk - by 91%, Nizhnekamsk - by 88%, Cheboksary - by 46%. Air tickets to Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Mineralnye Vody, Ulyanovsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Yakutsk and Syktyvkar increased by 30–36%.

Flights from the Russian capital to Sochi, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Volgograd, Irkutsk, Surgut, Simferopol, as well as from Sochi to St. Petersburg and Rostov-on-Don, went up by 15% and more.

In the Ministry of Transport, Izvestia could not comment on the rise in ticket prices due to the fact that the department is not familiar with the methodology for evaluating aggregators.

The representatives of the aggregators were familiar with the assessment methodology.

OneTwoTrip representative Yelena Shelekhova told Izvestia that Russians, in conditions of closed borders, choose domestic resorts for their holidays, so the demand for regional flights is growing. And in "Tutu.ru" told the newspaper that flights in Russia are still much more affordable than in other countries.

Later, the Ministry of Transport did not confirm the information about the increase in prices for air tickets, the press service of the ministry clarified that in some directions, ticket prices even decreased.

“The information provided by a number of aggregators about the alleged increase in prices for air tickets compared to 2019 is not based on data from the entire market and cannot be regarded as a real state of affairs. We note a decrease in prices in a number of areas in Russia", - said in the Ministry of Transport (quote from RIA Novosti).
