The International Monetary Fund's website has published a forecast for the growth of the world economy over the next five years. IMF experts are confident that China will become the driving force behind global economic growth in these years.
According to the calculations of the financial agency Bloomberg, which relied on data from the IMF, by 2026, China will account for more than one-fifth of the total growth in the world gross domestic product.
The growth of the world economy, which will begin to recover from the pandemic, which killed 2.9 million people, will be more than $ 28 trillion in these five years and will reach 122 trillion. Meanwhile, last year the planet's economy lost
$ 2.8 trillion, the largest peacetime drop since the Great Depression.
And what about Russia? The share of our country in the world economy last year fell to 1.74%, and by 2026 it will fall even lower - to 1.64%.
At the same time, Russia retained 11th place in terms of nominal GDP among the largest economies in the world, leaving Korea ahead, but bypassing Brazil. Our country will keep this place in the next three years, but in 2024 it will give way to Brazil, and in 2026 - to Australia, slipping to 13th place.
This year, the nominal size of Russian GDP will be $ 1.711 trillion (its maximum size was $ 2.3 trillion in 2013), and in 2026 it will reach $ 2 trillion
But in terms of GDP per capita, Russia in 2020 dropped from 63rd to 64th place, skipping Malaysia, and by 2026 it may move to 68th position, skipping Turkey, Bulgaria and the Maldives.
If we take the absolute expression of GDP per capita, then in 2020 it was 10.0 thousand dollars, while in 2019 - 11.5 thousand. That is, Russia for the first time in its history yielded to China with 10.5 thousand dollars in this indicator.
At the same time, the average world GDP per capita in 2020 amounted to 11.1 thousand dollars, which means that the average Russian is 9% poorer than the average earthling, and this gap will remain at least until 2026. The highest figure in Russia was in 2013 - 15.9 thousand dollars, and then our country was ranked 50th in the world ranking.
