This happened before the exits of the Baltic countries from the BRELL energy ring (Belarus, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), scheduled for 2025.
According to Kommersant, referring to the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the shutdown of the transmission line between Belarus and Lithuania did not affect the operation of the Russian energy system.
In Russia these days, due to the termination of export supplies, the demand and prices for electricity fell, while in the Baltic states, on the contrary, they rose.
Recall that in 2019, the Baltic countries decided to stop buying electricity from Russia and Belarus and connect to the EU's grids by 2025.
