The head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Alexander Khinshtein, announced the dismissal of five generals of the Russian Guard.

Khinshtein attached to the publication a photo of the corresponding decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The document is dated April 12th.

From the decree it follows that we are talking about high-ranking officers of the Russian Guard: the former head of the Main Directorate of Communications, Lieutenant General Alexei Belyakov , the former head of the Perm Institute of the Russian Guard, Major General Vladimir Kupavsky , the former head of the Main Directorate for work with personnel, Lieutenant General Nikolai Ryabchikov , former head of the Financial and Economic Department, Lieutenant-General Vyacheslav Savkin.

In addition, Deputy Director of the Russian Guard, Lieutenant General Yuri Babkin was dismissed and dismissed from his post. The head of the Contractual and Legal Department of the Russian Guard, Major General Alexander Shkolnikov was also dismissed from his post.

According to Kommersant, the Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against Kupavsky under the article on bribery and abuse of office, in which there were eight episodes.

The generals left the service of their own free will. At the same time, everyone, except for the honored veteran Babkin, suffered as a result of checks organized by the heads of the service.

Recall that about a dozen generals of the Russian Guard resigned in February 2021.

Kommersant linked these generals with the former Deputy Director of the Russian Guard for Logistics, Lieutenant General Sergei Mileiko, who is currently in charge of the criminal case, and Sergei Melikov, the current interim head of Dagestan, who until October 2020 was the first deputy head of the Rosgvardia.
