As you know, two days ago the official outfitter of the Russian Olympic team presented the uniform of the national team for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. It is no secret that as a result of doping scandals, Russian athletes will compete at the upcoming Olympics in a neutral status, but at the same time it is allowed to use tricolor colors on their uniforms. In addition, on the inside of the ceremonial and training suits of athletes, a special amulet is applied - a wish of good luck.
Deacon Andrey Kurayev commented on this decision as follows:
“Olympic rituals in their genesis and meaning, of course, are pagan, not Christian.
It is illogical that professional entertainers-athletes before the Olympics will go to an Orthodox church in uniform with amulets..."
Of course, the Olympic team will include athletes of different confessions, including atheists, but at the same time, they will all be "united" by a completely pagan symbol (and this is in direct conflict with Christian dogmas), which once again testifies to the ideological confusion that is taking place in the heads of both officials and ordinary people.
Social networks reacted sarcastically to this message:
- It is high time. The analyzes were not consecrated - what happened?
- In general, it seems to me that the farthest from paganism in Russia are the real consistent open atheists.
- Probably, at least 96% of Orthodox Christians are sure that their pectoral cross is precisely an amulet, a talisman and a talisman from all kinds of troubles and misfortunes... But the remaining 4% are not at all sure about this... But they hope that this is so...
- Let them sew up anything, the main thing - not the meldonium!
