"Providing employees with an additional day off, except in cases established by labor legislation, reduces the standard of working hours and may entail a decrease in wages. Therefore, if the initiative comes from the employer, the latter must decide the issue of paying for this day off", - the Rostrud told Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
This day off will be paid by the employer.
The department noted that in case of organizing an extraordinary day off, it will be necessary to issue a local normative act in any form, where it is necessary to indicate that this day will be paid.
Rostrud recalled that the first two working weeks of May will be four days, and the Day of Spring and Labor will fall on Saturday. The Russians will have to rest from May 1 to May 3, and April 30 will be pre-holiday, reduced by an hour.
Victory Day falls on Sunday, so the weekend will last from May 8 to 10. But May 7 will be full-time.
Earlier it was reported that in total, the production calendar for this year included seven short working weeks and one long one, which fell on the dates from 15 to 20 February.
Following the May holidays, another shortened week will be in the summer, from June 15 to 18, and also two weeks - in the fall and winter: from November 1 to 3 and December 27 to 30.
