The construction of the first Russian plant for the serial production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) was started by the Kronshtadt company. The plant will be built in Dubna, its launch is scheduled for November this year.

"The Kronstadt company has begun construction in Dubna of the first Russian plant for the serial production of unmanned aerial vehicles. The plant will be built in record time - the launch of production is scheduled for November 2021", - the press service of the company reports to RIA Novosti.

Investments in the project will amount to over 4 billion rubles. The enterprise will be able to provide jobs for more than one and a half thousand people. The new plant will bring at least 900 million rubles in annual taxes to the budget.

A source of the agency in the military-industrial complex indicated that "the new production will allow to cover the needs for unmanned aerial vehicles "Inokhodets" both on the part of the Ministry of Defense and other customers".

It's worth reminding that the Kronstadt company is the developer and manufacturer of the striking UAV "Inokhodets", also known as "Orion". These vehicles are capable of carrying up to 200 kg of combat load. They were used in Syria to strike at the bases of international terrorists. The reconnaissance and civilian versions of the apparatus were also developed and created.

Earlier, Novye Izvestia talked about the similarity of the Orion with the American MQ-9 Reaper UAVs.
