The Ministry of Internal Affairs demanded from the CIS countries to take out illegal migrants by June 15

According to First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Alexander Gorovoy, the CIS countries must remove from Russia all their citizens who are here illegally by June 15, otherwise measures will be taken up to the closure of the borders. The illegal immigrants themselves will be expelled from Russia. Alexander Gorovoy referred to the corresponding presidential decree.

Also, the deputy minister recommended that the media and "bloggers of local states" tackle this problem, - the Interfax agency notes. If illegal immigrants leave Russia in the coming months, then "no law enforcement practice will be applied for violation of migration regimes".

Earlier it was reported that due to the coronavirus pandemic, some of the migrant workers managed to leave Russia, but could not return due to the closure of the borders, and some remained in Russia without the opportunity to go home. By presidential decrees, the remaining stay in the country was extended until June 15 2021, as well as the accounting deadlines and other measures to resolve their legal status. At the same time, many employers, primarily at construction sites and in the housing and communal services of large cities, began to complain about the shortage of labor in these industries. Russian Presidential Secretary Dmitry Peskov also said that Russia does not have enough foreign labor to implement ambitious plans, including in the construction sector.
