“They don’t throw at people yet, but this is only for the time being...” Wolves terrorize the Pskov region

Residents of the Pskov region have complained that for several years now, every autumn and winter, wolves have been leaving the forest for the villages, tearing the dogs off their chains and bullying them, but their owners cannot protect them, since it is impossible to shoot in settlements.

The online edition Takie Dela publishes material of the Pskov journalist Lyudmila Savitskaya (the author is recognized as performing the functions of a foreign agent - editor's note) about wolves that have become active in the depressed Pskov region. Over the past three years, residents of various municipalities have regularly complained about raids by predators.

“This is the last dog on the street”, - say residents of the Spasovschina village. The rest were eaten by wolves.

You heard right , in the 21st century in the Pskov region, wolves come close to apartment buildings in the districts and rip off the watchdog watchdogs from their chains. They carry it a couple of meters and tear it apart. I've been writing about this issue since 2018, but things are still there. Officials say that wolves are being shot, people say that hunters licensed by the state are concerned with organizing recreation for Gazprom employees, and the four-legged just whine sadly.

My grandfather, a forest worker from Sochi (and also a great scientist: Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Doctor of Biological Sciences) Anatoly Kudaktin told me that it's all about dumps and stray dogs. Because of them, a completely new group of wolves appeared in Russia - synanthropic. These are predators that live off humans. And they walk not only in the Pskov region, but throughout the North-West.

And, it seems, It's better run away from such a bearish corners, where the nearest "Magnet" shop is tens of kilometers away, but people are offended when I ask about it. “I won't change the village for anything! What a city? You feel freer here. In the city, people walk by in a stream and there is no communication, it is like a mirage, like a glass of water in the desert: you see, but in reality you don't. And you feel even worse", - explains the psychologist and driver from the Pushkinogorsk region Vladimir Petrov..."

Meanwhile, the State Committee for Nature Management and Environmental Protection of the region reports on the regular shooting of wolves in the region: within the framework of the state program for the development of forestry, a remuneration of 10 thousand rubles is paid for each killed wolf. Apparently, gray predators breed faster than they are destroyed.
