In Russia, the modernization of the latest domestic fifth-generation fighter Su-57 has begun, which is planned to be upgraded to the level of a 5+ generation fighter.

According to the avia.pro news agency, the launched modernization process, which includes changing the systems and the aircraft fuselage for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, will allow the Russian Aerospace Forces to obtain a full-fledged fifth-generation superfighter. Its key feature will be a new weaponry that will easily destroy any positional areas of enemy air defense systems.

"The Su-57 fighter will be able to simultaneously control ten small drones at once, which will be able to suppress enemy air defense areas", - the message says.

Each modernized fighter will be able to use drones of various types, including reconnaissance, strike and radio suppression technology, capable of blocking the operation of electronic systems using electronic warfare.

Tests of the latest developments created by domestic designers will begin in the near future. This process is expected to be completed by 2025.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Defense Ministry adopted long-range missiles capable of hitting a target at a distance of up to 200 kilometers. At the beginning of this year, tests of such a long-range air-to-air missile RVV-BD were completed. Its advantage is that after its launch, it does not need constant control of its trajectory by the pilot: it is enough to simply release it, and it will hit the target itself.

The rocket was launched into mass production. While it is intended for Su-35S fighters, however, in the near future it can also be equipped with the fifth generation Su-57 and S-70 Okhotnik fighters. The functionality of the latter is not limited exclusively to strikes against ground targets. This combat aircraft will also act as an interceptor.

Now Russian military designers are also developing the newest sixth generation fighter-interceptor MiG-41 on the basis of the Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter. It is expected that it will be equipped with a hypersonic engine, and will be able to reach speeds of up to six thousand kilometers per hour, as well as rise to a height of several tens of kilometers.

It is planned to take this combat vehicle into service by 2025. This means that in the next few years its prototype will be created for the first tests. This plane will be the fastest. In December 2020, it became known that the aerospace forces of the Russian Federation were replenished with the latest serial fifth-generation fighter Su-57. In total, under the contract, the Russian army should receive 76 such fighters in the near future. Military experts note that this is the first Russian fighter that is not ashamed of. The Su-57 is capable of destroying all types of air, ground and surface targets. It is highly maneuverable and equipped with the latest avionics. It is practically invisible to enemy air defense systems.
