Experts have calculated how much classic writers could earn today

Lev Tolstoy could turn out to be the most successful writer today, according to experts of the book service "Liters".

The service analyzed how much classic writers could earn in the modern world.

"His monthly income from the sale of electronic and audio books would be at least 1.142 million rubles per month (before taxes)", - said the company.

Anton Chekhov was in second place - his income would have been equal to 1.1 million rubles a month. Alexander Pushkin took the third position with a monthly income of more than 800 thousand rubles.

Also, the five most successful classics included Fyodor Dostoevsky - he would receive 780 thousand rubles a month, and Nikolay Gogol - his fees would amount to 490 thousand rubles a month.

The TOP-10 highly paid classics included Alexander Kuprin (more than 317 thousand rubles), Ivan Turgenev (more than 318 thousand rubles), Mikhail Lermontov (more than 290 thousand rubles), Maxim Gorky (more than 240 thousand rubles), Sergei Yesenin (about 200 thousand rubles).
