Famous artists and politicians named as clients of surrogacy

According to news.ru, both Vyacheslav Volodin and famous artists resorted to the services of surrogacy, according to Vladislav Melnikov, as "single men". He spoke about this during the consideration of the appeal against the arrest of the defendants in the Moscow case on "children trafficking", which was considered in the Moscow City Court on April 21. The audio recording of his speech at the court session was provided to the publication by another person involved in the case, Konstantin Svitnev, who has now left abroad.

Vladislav Melnikov also said that for more than 20 years he has been involved in surrogacy programs "in strict accordance with the laws, having made hundreds of married couples and unmarried single men happy parents during this time".

The criminal case itself was initiated in January 2020, after the body of a baby born by a surrogate mother in December 2019 was found in one of the apartments in the city of Odintsovo near Moscow. There were also three more children born to surrogate mothers, who were looked after by a nanny. Their genetic fathers were foreigners who processed documents and planned to take the newborns with them. In June, five more babies were found in a Moscow apartment under the supervision of two women. In total, nine people are involved in the criminal case, four of them are doctors and one is a surrogate mother.

Representatives of the aforementioned persons did not comment on the statement of Vladislav Melnikov, although Philip Kirkorov did not hide that he used the services of a surrogate mother. Earlier, as part of the investigation, as a source of the TASS agency in the Investigative Committee said, it was planned to detain clients who used the services of surrogate mothers, - the website of the radio station Ekho Moskvy notes. There was also information that the Investigative Committee was planning to detain gay men who also used the services of surrogate mothers in order to create a complete family. At least ten people were under suspicion, they can be accused of buying children.
