Organizations will independently determine the order of work from 4 to 7 May

The decision on the procedure for work between the May holidays must be secured by an appropriate document, the Deputy Prime Minister said.

"Authorities, other authorities and organizations, employers independently, in accordance with the decree, determine the number and composition of employees necessary to ensure the functioning of the relevant authorities, organizations, enterprises, including the organization of work remotely. These decisions should be formalized by an order or decision of the relevant body, a local regulatory act of the organization in order to clearly define the procedure for work", - Golikova said during the briefing.

She noted that the decision on non-working days was made in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

"Employees can work remotely in accordance with labor legislation, if labor duties can be performed in a remote format of work", - the Deputy Prime Minister clarified and added that the salary must be paid to employees in advance if its date falls on a weekend period.

"Wages are paid within the timeframes set at the relevant enterprise. If the date of payment of wages falls on non-working days, then the wages must be paid in advance. The presence of non-working days in May 2021 is not a reason for reducing wages to employees", - Golikova emphasized.

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the additional days off introduced in Russia between the May holidays will not be mandatory for all enterprises.

It's worth reminding that in addition to the May holidays from May 1 to May 3 and May 8 to 10, which have already been included in the country's production calendar as non-working, Putin announced the days off and the days between them from May 4 to 7. Thus, the Russians will rest for ten days in a row.
