Actor Mikhail Yefremov, sentenced to seven and a half years in a general regime colony for a fatal road accident, gave his first interview about his life in prison.

After being transferred from Moscow to a prison near Belgorod, the 57-year-old actor was placed in a "silence mode": he maintains contact with the outside world by correspondence.

The artist said that he was in good psychological condition, but he had some health problems. Besides, it was not easy to get used to the new daily routine.

“Psychologically - with a plus sign, physical condition - average. Those sores that were before landing have not gone anywhere. The colony is not scary. It was a little unusual that the tough regime, the system of life, was regulated in everything. I had to get used to it. The way I lived before - there was no system there. I got used to it for two or three months”, - he said in an interview with StarHit.

The artist noted that he is not engaged in creative work in the colony, but some types of leisure time in prison bring him pleasure. He also added that he reads a lot in his spare time.

“All sorts of events in the colony where I can attend as a spectator or a fan - it gives me pleasure. Football matches are also held. I myself am good at table tennis. I don’t play here yet, but in the future I would like to”.

In an interview, Yefremov said that he hoped to have the sentence mitigated when his case was reviewed in cassation. What happened to him, he described briefly: "tragedy".
