Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will attend the Victory Parade in honor of the 76th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, which will be held in Moscow on May 9, the press service of the President of Tajikistan reported.

"Immediately after the celebrations in the Victory Park in Dushanbe, the President of Tajikistan and other members of the delegation will leave for Moscow, where they will take part in the Victory Parade", - the presidential press service reported.

This year, celebrations in honor of the end of the Great Patriotic War will be held in 377 cities. Military parades will be held in 28 cities, including the main military parade on Red Square in Moscow.

Last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the parade was postponed to June. Then he was visited by the heads of Serbia, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

They decided not to postpone the parade this year. It will be held on May 9. The procession of the "Immortal Regiment" as well as last year will be remote. It will be shown on TV channels and on street screens on May 9. However, the organizers do not exclude the in-person holding of the action on June 24.

The press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said earlier that this year Russia did not invite foreign heads of state to the parade in Moscow, because "this year is not an anniversary year", and there is still a risk of contracting coronavirus all over the world.
