In Moscow, on Red Square at 10 o'clock in the morning, the Victory Parade began. The year 2021 marks the 76th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The parade is attended by 37 parade crews on foot, including more than 12 thousand servicemen, a mechanized convoy of more than 190 models of military equipment, as well as an aviation formation of 76 aircraft.

President Vladimir Putin addressed the Russians on the occasion of Victory Day.

“There is no forgiveness and excuse for those who again contemplate aggressive plans. History requires drawing conclusions and learning lessons. But, unfortunately, much of the ideology of the Nazis, those who were obsessed with the delusional theory of their exclusivity, are again trying to put into service. only all sorts of radicals and groups of international terrorists. Today we see a gathering of unbeaten punishers, their followers, attempts to rewrite history, to justify traitors and criminals", - the president said.

Putin also announced a minute of silence in memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War. Tajik President Emomali Rahmon is the only foreign leader present at the military parade in Moscow today. The leader of the Central Asian republic, who has been in power for more than a quarter of a century, came to Red Square with the Russian president. Rakhmon and Putin climbed to the central rostrum and took a place in the front row, surrounded by veterans of the Great Patriotic War. But before that, Putin spoke briefly with some of the front-line soldiers.

In connection with the parade, many central streets were blocked in the capital. The restrictions began to be introduced at 5:30 and will be lifted as the convoy progresses.

Forecasters predicted heavy precipitation in Moscow on May 8 and 9 - up to two-thirds of the monthly norm. Such weather conditions may affect the air part of the Victory Parade in Moscow, said on the eve of the parade, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

Earlier, the leading employee of the Phobos weather center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, indicated that on May 9, up to 5 mm of precipitation may fall in Moscow. At night, the air temperature will be 4-6 degrees, and during the day - up to 14.

It will be cloudy from 9 am to 11 am: almost overcast is expected at this time.
