According to nutritionist Mikhail Ginzburg, it is better to drink only water on an empty stomach so as not to harm the body. People with healthy stomachs can also afford to drink green tea or coffee with milk on an empty stomach, as well as fermented milk drinks.

But even if everything is in order with the gastrointestinal tract, then you should not consume juices, soda, compotes, sweet tea and alcohol before meals. “Everything that we drink on an empty stomach“ reaches ”very quickly to the intestines and begins to be absorbed there very quickly. Therefore, sugar-containing soda, sugar-containing drinks such as tea, compote, it is undesirable to drink on an empty stomach", - explained Ginzburg in an interview with radio Sputnik.

Alcohol drunk on an empty stomach will also be harmful, as the blood sugar level will rise, resulting in metabolic disorders - a fact the nutritionist called an "unpleasant problem".
