The head of the Ministry of Justice, Konstantin Chuichenko (pictured), speaking at the Federation Council, said that it is necessary to tighten control over non-profit organizations (NPO) at the legislative level. In doing so, he referred to foreign experience.

"As for the activities of NGOs and their regulation, in the American and British jurisdictions it is much more stringent than the measures that are covered in the law. It seems to me that we need to go the same way here", - the agency quotes Konstantin Chuichenko as saying, - To be honest, we are not creating anything new - everything has already been invented before us".

The Ministry of Justice has already carried out an analysis of the regulation of the activities of NPOs in other countries. "We will carry out the same analysis in this direction and further", - added Konstantin Chuichenko.

According to the Minister of Justice, it is necessary to create "barriers to what may affect the rights of citizens of the Russian Federation, harm our interests".

Two years ago, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that foreign special services and NGOs are engaged in destructive activities aimed "at undermining moral foundations and eroding traditional values", primarily among young people. It is not known exactly what values are considered "traditional" and how long their tradition is.
