Analysts: demand for wedding dresses in Russia has exceeded the pre-pandemic level

Judging by the demand for Avito, Russians again began to actively marry and get married. The demand for dresses and other accessories for brides in April-May this year is 36% higher than in the same period in 2019.

In the spring of 2020, the market for wedding dresses and accessories sagged noticeably. For a long time, the registry offices were closed, so that about 70% of planned weddings in Russia were postponed. However, already in July-August, the market began to revive. This year, the wedding season began traditionally in the spring, and in April-May the demand for wedding paraphernalia turned out to be noticeably higher than in the same period of the pre-pandemic 2019.

According to Avito analysts, in two years the demand for bridal dresses has grown by 39% (supply - by 16%). On average, a wedding dress in Russia can be purchased for 7,000 rubles. Prices have risen by about 27% in two years. The demand for veils has increased by 23%, and by 93% - for bouquets.

The demand for wedding paraphernalia for brides has grown in almost all surveyed regions of the country. But, as Avito analysts have found out, wedding dresses are most in demand now in Izhevsk (+ 98%) and St. Petersburg (+ 94%), as well as in Nizhny Novgorod (+ 79%), Voronezh (+ 71%) and Krasnodar (+ 67%). In Moscow, the demand for dresses, veils and bridal bouquets increased by 25% compared to 2019.

The highest average price for wedding dresses is in Sochi: 11,000 rubles. And in general, in the south of the country, brides spend more on a bridal outfit: in Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar and Voronezh, wedding dresses cost brides an average of 10,000 rubles. Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Novokuznetsk and Kemerovo are the cities where you can get married on a more budgetary basis: a wedding dress there costs an average of 5,000 rubles.
