The Investigative Committee conducting searches in the house of the former mayor of Vladivostok Oleg Gumenyuk (pictured) does not specify what kind of investigation they are connected with, but there is information that this is a criminal case against an official of the Necropolis municipal budgetary institution.

Gumenyuk is involved in this case as a witness, TASS reports, referring to his sources in law enforcement agencies.

“I officially confirm that the department's employees are conducting searches at Oleg Gumenyuk’s house”, - said the representative of the Investigative Committee for the region, Aurora Rimskaya.

In turn, the source of the agency clarifies that the searches are carried out as part of a bribery case against an official of the municipal budgetary city institution "Necropolis" (city funeral service). Investigators believe that the accused in this case received more than 4 million rubles from two citizens for facilitating the illegal issuance of permits for the installation of formwork on the territory of the Morskoye cemetery and for the burial of urns with ashes. Gumenyuk is a witness in this case.

It should be noted that searches were carried out in the "Necropolis" in February of this year, after which the head of the cemetery and crematorium was detained.

Let us remind you that he became acting. Mayor of Vladivostok December 22, 2018. Prior to that, he served as head of the economic department of the Primorsky Territory administration. In March 2019, he was officially approved as mayor. However, in May 2021, he announced his resignation - against the backdrop of criticism from the Deputy Prime Minister-Plenipotentiary of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev and Governor Oleg Kozhemyako. May 20, acting former vice-governor Konstantin Shestakov has been appointed mayor of the Far Eastern capital. On May 27, Gumenyuk's powers were terminated ahead of schedule.
