Lufthansa canceled flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg

German airline Lufthansa has canceled flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Frankfurt and back due to the lack of permission from the air authorities.

As reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the carrier's representative, we are talking about flights to Moscow and St. Petersburg LH1444 / 1445/02 FRA-DME and LH1436 / 1437/02 FRA-LED.

The reason for the cancellation of flights was "non-receipt of permission from the air authorities".

A day earlier, a similar incident happened with S7 flights to Berlin and back. The carrier has not received permission from the German authorities. The company said that they plan to resolve all difficulties with obtaining permits, and passengers will be fully refunded for missing tickets.

Many carriers faced problems with obtaining flight permits after the emergency with the forced landing of Ryanair in Minsk and the subsequent arrest of the passenger on board - the founder of the opposition telegram channel Nexta Roman Protasevich. The state propaganda of Belarus accused him of " terrorism". In Belarus, a journalist faces the death penalty.

After such an emergency, the authorities of a number of EU countries banned Belavia's flights to the Eurozone and recommended that their airlines fly around the airspace of Belarus as unsafe. The recommendations were followed by more than a dozen of the largest carriers. When agreeing on new routes bypassing Belarus, some of them began to have difficulties with the approval of the Russian authorities. As a result, some flights were canceled.
