The skies over Geneva will be closed during the Russia-US summit, according to the Swiss newspaper NZZ am Sonntag. The details of the blocking are being worked out by the Swiss Federal Aviation Administration in conjunction with the Air Force and other departments of the country.

The media notes that these organizations already have extensive experience in the field of security thanks to the holding of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The meeting between US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin is scheduled for June 16, 2021, in Geneva, presumably in one of the villas. The heads of state will discuss the state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations, problems of strategic stability and topical issues on the international agenda. Both sides do not see an opportunity for a breakthrough, because the list of mutual claims is long. At the same time, the White House explained Biden's meeting with Putin with the intention to understand Russia's plans.

The experts had previously told Novye Izvestia about why this meeting is needed and what issues might be resolved during it.
