As the newspaper notes, the registration of candidates who are not members of the parties "United Russia", the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party and "Fair Russia", was denied ten times more often than candidates from these parties. 120 thousand unregistered candidates - this is 7% of all nominated candidates. Of these, only 20 thousand were represented by the four above-mentioned parties, the rest were from independent parties or self-nominated.
Over the past 15 years, the CEC refused to register only 2% of candidates from the four main parties, while independent parties are denied registration of every fourth candidate, self-nominated candidates are not registered in 13% of cases.
Recall that the other day, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law banning the leaders, founders and members of extremist organizations, as well as those who financed their activities , from participating in elections. Prior to this, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit to recognize FBK * (included in the register of foreign agents) of the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and his Headquarters as extremist organizations. If FBK* and Navalny's Headquarters lose the case, the leaders and founders of these organizations will not be able to participate in elections at all levels for five years, and members of organizations for three years.
