As noted by RIA Novosti, along with St. Petersburg, the largest number of crimes in a state of intoxication also occurs in Moscow and Chelyabinsk. Such data were released by the specialists of Delta Security Systems.
“We analyzed more than 100 thousand alarm calls for 2019, 2020 and 2021 and saw a pattern that every year the number of offenses committed by persons in a state of alcoholic intoxication is growing, and St. Petersburg is invariably the leader in the number of offenses of this type”, - says in message.
Over the year, the number of "drunken" crimes in St. Petersburg in 2020 was 23%, in Moscow - 26%, in Chelyabinsk - 2%.
Experts associate the explosive growth of alcoholic emergencies with a long covid quarantine and the stress associated with it: in a situation of uncertainty, many citizens emptied the shelves of alcohol stores, and then went on "adventures".
Along with the indicated cities, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan were also included in the list of leaders in the number of alcohol crimes. The most "sober" were Smolensk, Ufa, Kaluga, Tambov and Kurgan.
Most often, in a state of intoxication, citizens provoke brawls and open conflicts (47-48%), followed by thefts (20-21%), as well as violations of public order (13-15%).
Quarantine has left a negative imprint on crime in many cities. According to human rights activists, during lockdowns, the level of domestic violence rose sharply everywhere, and a record for the number of sexual crimes was set in Berlin.
