"Medzhidov was found not guilty. The jurors gave a negative answer to the main question, recognizing the lack of proof of the guilt of the accused in the alleged crime by the preliminary investigation bodies", -TASS cites the court's message.
Yesterday, the jury, by five votes to one, passed an acquittal to Medzhidov. The defendant's lawyer Shamil Yandarbayev indicated that his client had been released in the courtroom.
It's worth reminding that in April 2018, a student from Kazakhstan was found under the windows of MGIMO. The investigators failed to interrogate the girl - she fell into a coma, and three weeks later she died without regaining consciousness. Witnesses indicated that before the tragedy, the student was sorting out her relationship with her boyfriend. This took place in the auditorium on the fourth floor.
Initially, a criminal case was initiated under the article on driving to suicide.
Medzhidov was detained and arrested two years after the tragedy. He was charged with murder.
