Renewable energy sources have become much more efficient over the past ten years. This is clearly shown in the graph in the report of the international expert group on the use of renewable energy sources: price in dollars per kilowatt-hour; from left to right: solar power generation, concentrated solar energy (generated by solar concentrators), offshore wind turbines, "conventional" onshore wind turbines.
Prices for all types of generation fell from 2010 to 2020: energy from traditional wind turbines fell the least of all: by 48%. Offshore energy fell 54%, concentrated solar energy fell 68%, and "conventional" solar energy fell 85%. The chart also shows the spread of prices, with the dots marking the average values.
The world renewable energy is only accelerating - investments in such generation are growing by leaps and bounds, which means that further price reductions can be expected. Low prices will allow renewable energy to become widespread outside Europe, and with a massive scale, prices will fall even faster, - analysts of the Russian Futurist channel are sure.
