Andrey Sapega, the father of a Russian woman, Sophia Sapega, detained in Minsk, recorded a video message to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, in which he asked for a personal meeting and for pardoning his daughter.

For help in organizing a meeting with Lukashenko, Sapega turned to Oleg Kozhemyako, the governor of the Primorsky Territory. Lukashenko intends to visit this region. Sapega's video message was posted on the Prima Media channel.

Andrey Sapega said that he has four children, of which Sophia is the eldest, beloved child.

“Alexander Grigorievich, I ask you for mercy. It's enough cruelty in the world, lately the world is full of it. Any sane person understands that Sophia was in the wrong place and with the wrong person”, - said Andrey Sapega.

He is convinced that "before she met Roman Protasevich she was an ordinary girl".

“During the protests in Minsk, she was in Lithuania, and if she did anything during that period, it is definitely a story of love, not of convictions”, - said the father of the detained Russian woman.

After the Belarusian authorities accused Sophia Sapega of inciting social hatred and threatened with a long prison term, the student's father admitted that his daughter “helped with work” the former editor-in-chief of the opposition Telegram channel Nexta Roman Protasevich. At the same time, Andrey Sapega said that he would make sure that his daughter did not do this anymore.

“Don't ruin her fate, she's just a little girl who is just starting to live”, - said Andrey Sapega.
