Today, June 16, in the city of Geneva in western Switzerland, talks were held between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden. The meeting of the heads of the two states lasted a little less than the previously scheduled time.

After it, the presidents will individually hold their press conferences, at which they will talk about the results.

According to Vladimir Putin, Russian and American diplomats, previously expelled from Russia and the United States, will be returned to their places of work. Also, the US ambassador will return to Moscow, and the Russian ambassador to Washington, the Kommersant newspaper reports. But when exactly this will happen - "tomorrow or the day after tomorrow" - Vladimir Putin did not specify. He added that there was no hostility in the negotiations with Joe Biden, and the conversation turned out to be constructive.

The meeting of the heads of the two states lasted more than three hours, - the TV channel "Dozhd" notes. Including "in a narrow composition" - 93 minutes. After a 45-minute break, the summit continued in an expanded format and took another 65 minutes, but ended almost an hour earlier than planned. This is the first meeting between Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden as presidents. Before that, they met only in 2011, when Vladimir Putin served as prime minister, and Joe Biden served as US vice president in the Obama administration.
