As follows from the data of the Central Election Commission of Armenia, after counting 100% of the votes, Pashinyan's party won 53.92% of the vote, and the bloc of former President Robert Kocharyan “Armenia” - 21.04%.

"The bloc of former President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan "I have the honor" received 5.23% of the votes, the Prosperous Armenia party - 3.96%, the Republic party - 3.04%, the rest - less than 2%", - Novaya newspaper.

According to the Central Election Commission of the republic, 1,281,911 people took part in the elections.

In the conditions of a sharp political struggle for seats in parliament, serious violations were not avoided. As The Insider reports with reference to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, three criminal cases were initiated on the facts of violations committed during the voting.

The complaints received by the security officials are related to the violation of the secrecy of the vote, entering the polling station with a weapon and the use of violence. In total, 66 materials on violations were received during the voting.

The intensity of passions in some areas was so great that the case ended in shooting. So, near one of the polling stations in the Ararat region of Armenia, an armed conflict took place between representatives of the parties "Prosperous Armenia" and "Rise". Its participants fired from a gas pistol.

The extraordinary parliamentary elections were the result of an acute internal political conflict provoked by the war in Nagorno- Karabakh . After the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, Armenia lost control over part of the territory of the unrecognized republic.

In accordance with these agreements, the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, which had continued since September, then ended, part of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region within the Soviet borders and the Azerbaijani regions occupied by the Armenian side in the 1990s around this autonomy, with the exception of the Lachin corridor, returned to Azerbaijan's control. Also, the agreements stipulate that Armenia should provide Azerbaijan with a corridor to the enclave of Nakhichevan.

Nikol Pashinyan allowed discussion of the issue of exchanging enclaves with Azerbaijan during border demarcation. In Soviet times, individual villages within the Armenian SSR were part of the Azerbaijan SSR and vice versa. Currently, they are de facto controlled by another party.

After the agreement was signed, the opposition accused Prime Minister Pashinyan of “betrayal” and demanded his resignation. Crowds of protesters, outraged by the outcome of the war, smashed the prime minister's residence. Before the elections, Pashinyan announced his resignation.

In the announced early parliamentary elections, 25 political forces decided to fight for seats in the country's legislative body: 21 parties and four blocs are participating in the race for the right to form a new government.
