A shortage of vaccines is announced in Bashkiria

“I can say that people heard us. Only on Monday in the republic the daily number of those who were vaccinated increased six times! We are increasing the volume of vaccinations. At the same time, we understand that there are difficulties with a shortage of vaccine, and where it is”, Khabirov said during a meeting of the Human Rights Council.

According to him, the government of Bashkiria is working to solve this problem, in particular, it increases the volume of vaccine supplies, opens new vaccination points and optimizes their work schedule.

At the same time, Khabirov noted that now there is no need to introduce compulsory vaccination in Bashkiria, since he has already made a number of "rather difficult decisions for people" in order to increase the pace of the vaccination campaign.

According to Mkset , during the meeting, the members of the Council confirmed the information that the vaccine had run out in some regions of Bashkiria. Despite this, a member of the HRC Sergey Zhukov proposed to accelerate the pace of vaccination by organizing it in the central squares of settlements. Khabirov promised to think about it.

“We asked doctors to calmly explain to people the reasons [for the lack of vaccine] and invite them to get vaccinated later,” the head of Bashkiria added. He is also ready to postpone for a week the introduction of the second part of the restrictive measures that relate to the ban on visiting catering establishments for the unvaccinated.

Recall that from June 22 in Bashkiria, you cannot go to museums, theaters and cinemas, libraries, nightclubs and indoor sports events without a coronavirus vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test. From June 29, the ban will apply to bars, restaurants, spas, fitness clubs, swimming pools and student residences.

Khabirov was the first to take such draconian measures in the country, which is why he was criticized not only by the population, but also by politicians. In particular, the chairman of the Fair Russia party, Sergei Mironov, called Khabirov's decision "bureaucratic tyranny" and "disrespect for people." “With one stroke of his pen, he turned the majority of the population of the territory under his jurisdiction into pariahs,” Mironov said about the head of Bashkiria. He also drew attention to the insufficient amount of vaccine:

“If everyone wants to be vaccinated tomorrow, there simply won't be enough for everyone. Thus, the proportion of vaccinated people will still remain insignificant, and other residents of the region, thanks to these decrees, will become outcasts in their own region".
