According to the BBC Russian Service, referring to the detainee's stepfather Sergey Dudich, Sapega is in a rented apartment in Minsk. Dudich also said that for him and for Sapieha's mother - Anna Dudich - what happened was a surprise.
“We are in shock”, - said the stepfather of the Russian woman.
Earlier, the father of the detainee, Andrei Sapega, appealed to the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, with a request for a personal meeting and a pardon for his daughter. “She's just a little girl who is just starting to live”, - Sapega said.
Protasevich was also transferred under house arrest. The father of the detainee, Dmitry Protasevich, reported this to the publication:
"It is difficult for me to comment on the actions of the authorities, what are their goals. They are still under the full control of the authorities, no one has dropped the charges against them".
Until the parents saw Roman Protasevich after being transferred from the pre-trial detention center. Dmitry Protasevich pointed out that neither the authorities nor the lawyers inform the family about anything:
"We are not told anything about Roma's condition, about his status, it's just a mockery".
It's worth reminding that after the arrest of the Russian woman and Protasevich, it turned out that Sophia Sapega was the editor of the Black Book of Belarus telegram channel, where the personal data of Belarusian law enforcement officers were published, and now she is suspected of inciting ethnic hatred after the presidential elections on August 9. The Russians intend to investigate the case in Minsk.
It should be noted that in the pre-trial detention center, where Sapieha was until recently, she, according to the lawyer Alexander Filanovich, "periodically had panic attacks".
The Russian woman faces up to 12 years in prison.
Roman Protasevich in his telegram channel NEXTA has repeatedly criticized the current government in Belarus and, in particular, President Alexander Lukashenko. The film “Lukashenko. Goldmine", created by NEXTA, was included in the list of extremist materials by the decision of the court of the Central District of Minsk. The head of the republic himself stated that the detainee could face the death penalty.
We also remind that the detention of Protasevich and Sapieha took place after the forced landing of a Ryanair plane in Minsk on 23 May. Both were arrested for two months.
