“The tournament was planned to be held on April 23-24, 2022. The organizers plan to announce the new competition venue for the next World Athletics board meeting”, - reports The Insider.
The council meeting is scheduled for July 28-29.
Earlier it was reported that after the scandal with the forced landing in Minsk of the plane of the Irish company Ryanair, the EU countries and the US accused the Belarusian authorities of “hijacking” the plane and imposed numerous sanctions against the country, which affected various sectors of the economy.
The next, already the fifth package of sanctions against Belarus was adopted by the EU on June 24, sectoral sanctions against Belarus were introduced for the first time, limiting, in particular, the trade in potash fertilizers - an important item of Belarusian export.
The European Union also introduced for the first time a ban on the purchase of any oil products from Belarus . In addition, for the forced landing of a Ryanair flight in Minsk and the arrest of former NEXTA editor-in-chief Roman Protasevich, "serious human rights violations and brutal suppression of civil society", the Belarusian government, its agencies and corporations, as well as state banks will be cut off from the EU financial markets.
