The arrest until October 7 of the adviser to the head of Roscosmos, and before that - the journalist of the newspapers "Kommersant" and "Vedomosti" Ivan Safronov, accused of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code), was extended by the Moscow City Court.

At the same time, July 7 will be exactly one year since he is already in the Moscow detention center "Lefortovo".

According to "Novaya Gazeta", this time three relatives of Ivan Safronov were allowed to announce the court decision - his sister Irina and her husband Maxim, fiancee Ksenia, as well as public figure Marina Litvinovich.

On June 24, it was reported that the investigator in the case of Ivan Safronov, Aleksandr Chaban, offered him cooperation in exchange for a call from his mother, with whom he did not communicate all the time of his arrest. “Ivan said that he would not forgive the investigator for this,” said lawyer Dmitry Katchev. In October last year, Ivan Safronov asked the FSB to allow him to congratulate his mother on his birthday by phone, but then the investigator did not allow him to do this, referring to the fact that the conversation could be used "for covert exchange of information, performing intelligence missions of foreign special services against security".

It's worth reminding that Ivan Safronov was detained and arrested on charges of transferring data on military-technical cooperation, defense and security of Russia to Czech intelligence. At the same time, the FSB does not disclose the details of the accusation even to lawyers until the end of the preliminary investigation.

The journalist connects his criminal case with his professional activities, he does not admit his guilt. According to him, none of the investigators "did not give him an explanation of the essence of the charges", although the arrest continues to be extended. Ivan Safronov's father, also Ivan Safronov, is a military journalist, a former missile engineer who died under unexplained circumstances on March 2, 2007. Before his death, he was preparing material on the secret deliveries of Russian aircraft and anti-aircraft systems to Syria and Iran through Belarus, but the material was never published.
