Cold water stopped flowing to the Zavodskoy District, as well as to a part of the Soviet District. According to the head of the Oryol region Andrei Klychkov, 998 houses of various storeys with a population of about 100 thousand people, 17 of which are children, fell into the cut-off zone.

On the fact of the incident, a prosecutor's inspection was organized, which will allow assessing the actions or inaction of officials, bodies and organizations, whose competence includes issues of maintenance and maintenance of this section of the pipeline.

The mayor of the regional center, Yuri Parakhin, said that the water will return to the houses of the townspeople within 24 hours, but for now water will be supplied to both affected areas. Until the accident is repaired, kindergartens will remain closed.
