As the Egyptian diplomat told reporters, there are no restrictions on issuing visas to Russians.
“We work regularly and are ready to provide any number of visas”, - RIA Novosti quotes Abd-Elmuiz's statement.
A visa can also be obtained from the Egyptian embassy and consulate. However, due to coronavirus restrictions, they can only receive visitors by appointment.
For a vacation flight to Egypt, citizens of the Russian Federation do not need a PCR test. A vaccination certificate is enough.
"Citizens who have not received the vaccine are required one of two things: either a PCR test carried out within 72 hours, or a PCR test carried out at airports in Egypt, in which case a quarantine is required for several hours before the test results are obtained", - is said in the message.
On the eve it became known that Russian President Vladimir Putin canceled the ban on flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, which had been in effect since the fall of 2015.
The reason for the introduction of a ban on flights to Egyptian resorts was the crash of a Russian airliner en route from Egypt to St. Petersburg. As a result of the explosion on board the aircraft, all 224 people on board were killed. Subsequently, it turned out that the cause of the death of the liner was a terrorist attack provoked by violations of air safety standards.
Until all violations of the safety rules for flights to Egypt were eliminated, Russians were banned from traveling to the country. In 2018, the service was partially resumed, but the flights were carried out only to Cairo, which was inconvenient for vacationers: the journey from the Egyptian capital to the resorts on the Red Sea took about 9 hours in uncomfortable conditions. In the spring at the meeting of presidents of Russia and Egypt reached an agreement on the return flight in a mode that existed prior to the plane crash.
