SuperJob specialists asked the respondents a question: "Who do you think should be appointed head coach of the Russian national football team after the dismissal of Stanislav Cherchesov?" To which 14% of Russians replied that nothing would change from the change of coach, the team should be disbanded. Another 3% of respondents thought that they would be a good replacement for Cherchesov.
2% of respondents supported the appointment of Valery Karpin, Kurban Berdyev, Joachim Loew and even President Vladimir Putin to the post of head coach of the Russian national football team. Another 2% believe that it is worth keeping Cherchesov in this position.
24% of Russians named other options, including Artyom Dzyuba, Sergey Semak, Leonid Slutsky, and also sounded the names of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu. Another 33% of respondents found it difficult to answer the question, and 16% said that they do not understand football.
The poll was conducted on July 9-21 in all districts of Russia. It was attended by 1600 respondents over 18 years old.
Recall that Cherchesov was fired from his post as head coach of the Russian national football team after a disastrous performance at Euro 2020. The team finished fourth in the group, losing 4: 1 to the Danes in the decisive match. Now the RFU is looking for a new coach.
