She met her future husband when she was 18 years old. But the girl was in no hurry to get married. Moza was educated as a psychologist at the University of Qatar, after which she went on an internship in the United States.
Returning home, she became the second wife of the emir and bore him seven children. All in all, Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani has 25 children from three wives.
While the children were young, Moza took care of their upbringing. When they grew up, she continued her studies, thereby earning the respect of her husband.
Moza became the first woman whom the sheikh allowed to power. In Qatar, she leads educational, humanitarian and charitable projects, is active in public affairs and is a special ambassador of UNESCO for basic and higher education.
“I want schools to be perceived as shrines, which under no circumstances can become a target during a war”, - says the sheikh.
She has spent years ensuring that all the children in her country can receive an education. And she traveled half the world on a humanitarian mission, enabling more than 10 million children to go to school.
Thanks to her, women in Qatar have the right to vote, drive and dress less severely than in neighboring countries.
In the world, she is considered a style icon. By the way, she does not wear a hijab, covering her hair with a stylish turban. Sheikh Moza will turn 62 this year. One of her sons ascended the throne. She continues to care about the future of her country and about the fact that in Arab society a woman always remains in a place of honor, KP reports.
Vladimir Sidorov, an advisor to the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representative of the Rescue Committee of Maria Lazareva, commented on the publication exclusively for NI :
- The influence and impulse of Sheikh Moza can only be compared with the revolution in social life, which produced Coco Chanel, but in her own way - Sheikh accurately reflected the request of hundreds of millions of women around the world for equal participation in all spheres of our life. The first among equals Arab feminist, style icon, skillful manager of huge resources (not only financial, but also resources of influence - the significance of which is much higher than just money) - the Sheikh influenced the destinies and careers of thousands of Arab women. it was the women leaders in the UAE that, for example, passed a law on the reservation of 50 seats for women in the National Assembly (headed by a woman, Dr. Amal al-Qubaisi), and since 2018, a woman, Fawziya Zaynal, has also become the speaker of the Mejlis of neighboring Bahrain. The list of "female influence" in the Gulf countries can be continued - 8 women were appointed chief justices in Kuwait (this is 15% of the total number of judges), in the same place a woman Maasuma Al-Mubarak (2005-2007) was appointed as the Minister of Health, the representative of the same country - In 2019, Role Abdullah ad-Dashti became UN Deputy Secretary General, in KSA Ms Nura il Faiz became Deputy Minister for Women's Education - and there are quite a few positions in this list of positions held by the fair sex. the role of women in modern society, and the urgent need to modernize both the public administration apparatus and the decision-making system in corporations. Sheikha Mozah plays a prominent role, bestowed upon her by her very destiny. More precisely, this role was deserved and earned for her, and beauty is a gift that came from above - only sets off her hard work and a great desire for knowledge. In our country, which traditionally defends the equality of women and "achieved" - after all, the fact that women have won the basic right to hard daily work on an equal basis with men - there is a whole galaxy of women, and among the most famous is Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko, also an icon of personal and political style, and according to the constitution the third person in Russia. That is, in terms of the level of position in the state and influence, it certainly occupies a noticeable role in our society and in the international arena. But by the way - one cannot compare these inimitable, brave and famous women, and probably thanks to their work, luck and personal participation in the most difficult affairs of our civilization - this little fragile world exists, the foundation of which has always been beauty. And perhaps today personal contacts between women - international leaders are more important than ever, because in such contacts a synergistic potential may appear, which, I am sure, will make our world both kinder and better.
