Labor market research has shown that Russians who get a job often claim lower wages than employers are willing to offer them. The analysts of Avito Rabota came to this conclusion by comparing the financial expectations of those who are looking for a job and those who offer this job.

So, most of all, workers in the production sphere underestimate themselves. Applicants in this category of vacancies claim an average of 18 thousand rubles a month for a full-time job, while employers are willing to pay an average of 35 thousand for a similar job. There are less than 0.4 resumes per one posted vacancy in this section.

The highest gap between salary expectations and employers' capabilities in this category is observed in Stavropol. There candidates claim 12 thousand rubles, while employers are willing to pay them 2.5 times more. It is followed by Moscow, where workers are ready to receive from 25 thousand rubles, while employers are ready to pay almost 2.5 times more - 60 thousand.

In second place in terms of low salary expectations are candidates for civil service and work in non-profit organizations. In this category, people are on average ready to receive 20 thousand rubles, while employers are ready to offer 75% more. At the same time, the competition in this industry is much higher. There are already 2.7 resumes per vacancy.

The top three also included specialties in the field of safety and security. On average, job seekers are ready to receive 15 thousand rubles, while employers are ready to pay 26 thousand, which is 73% more than the expectations of Russians.

Also, among other professions where Russians significantly lower their wages in order to get a job, there are Housing and Utilities, Operations, Sales, Consulting, Insurance, Jurisprudence, Administrative Work, Accounting, Finance...

Avito experts note that the qualifications of applicants significantly affect competition in the labor market. "The employers are not ready to hire candidates who do not meet the employers' requirements for professional skills, even despite low salary expectations", - commented Artyom Kumpel, managing director of Avito Rabota.
