The company Nordwind ("North Wind") is going to start selling air tickets for one ruble, Izvestia reports. According to the newspaper, families with children under 18 will be able to fly almost free of charge. However, this will only be possible if the company receives a subsidy from the state to transport families on domestic tourist routes. Now other air carriers are also applying for these funds from the government.
In an interview with Sputnik radio, the general director of Avintel Aviation Technologies Alliance Viktor Pryadka said that the sale of cheap air tickets would temporarily revive the transportation market, but would not lead to a radical improvement in the situation.
"Subsidies will benefit airlines for some time, but in order to fundamentally improve the situation, it is necessary to raise the level of income of the population. If this happens, then more tickets will be sold, and airlines will need to buy new aircraft, improve infrastructure and improve the operation of airports. that is, the entire complex of civil aviation will go up, "Viktor Pryadka explained in an interview with Sputnik radio.
If Nordwind receives a subsidy, then 25 thousand tickets per ruble will go on sale, for which it will be possible to fly to Kaliningrad, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Irkutsk, Samara.
