According to the tabloid The Sun, the Queen is determined to litigate and is consulting with experts in libel cases. However, she still hopes that her grandson and Megan will not bring the case to trial and agree to settle the intra-family conflict.

The reason for the sharp speech at Buckingham Palace was the intention of Prince Harry to publish a memoir concerning the life of the royal family. The publication indicates that the lawyers hired by the 95-year-old queen want to send warnings to Penguin Random House, which plans to release Harry's book in 2022.

Earlier it became known that the publishers have already paid Harry a large advance. The announcement of the book's release angered the royal family. Relatives considered that Harry "writes his memories not as the prince he was born, but as the person he has become".

The rift in Harry and Meghan's relationship with the royal family began shortly after their wedding. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said they were tired of reporters' excessive attention to their persons and decided to resign from their royal duties. In response, Buckingham Palace stripped them of funding, and the couple left the country.

The conflict between the senior and junior Windsors deepened especially in March this year, when Harry and Meghan gave a controversial TV interview to the American TV presenter Oprah Winfrey. In it, Megan said about the manifestations of racism in the royal family.
