Mandatory vehicle inspection for obtaining OSAGO has been canceled from August 22

However, the new rules will take effect only a week later - from August 29, 2021. From this day on, a fresh diagnostic card, indicating the passage of a technical inspection, will not be required for issuing OSAGO. In addition, the ban on the entry into force of the electronic OSAGO agreement on the day of its conclusion has been lifted.

At the same time, this does not negate the fact that Russians will still have to undergo regular technical inspection. From March 1, 2022, owners of cars that have not passed it will face a fine of two thousand rubles. At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs proposed to delete a number of mandatory checks from the rules for conducting technical inspection of cars. And he also wants to encourage those who undergo technical inspection voluntarily - the possibility of reducing the cost of compulsory motor third party liability insurance for such drivers is being considered.
