Rostec has supplied the first industrial batch of Armata tanks to the Russian army, said Vladimir Artyakov, first deputy general director of the state corporation, during the Army-2021 international military-technical forum.

He noted that, in addition to the T-14 Armata tanks, supplies of Pantsir-S, as well as the newest modernized M-90 Proryv tanks, continue. His words are quoted by TASS.

Earlier, Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said that this year it is planned to supply 20 T-14 tanks to the ranks of the Russian army.

It's worth reminding that the T-14 tank on the Armata platform was developed by the Uralvagonzavod concern. It was first demonstrated at the Victory Day parade in 2015. In 2019, it passed preliminary tests, but its deliveries were repeatedly postponed.

The cost of one such tank is estimated at $ 5 million. The tank belongs to the third post-war generation and has one fundamental difference from other combat vehicles. Its crew is in an isolated armored capsule in the tank's hull, not in its turret. In addition, Uralvagonzavod is testing this tank for remote control.
