Museum Director Alar Karis becomes President of Estonia

The director of the Estonian National Museum, Aral Karis (pictured), was elected as the new president of Estonia today, and 72 members of parliament (Riigikogu) voted for his candidacy.
Remind that the day before in the first round Karis got 63 votes, while 68 votes were needed to win.
Note that Karis was the only candidate for the presidency of Estonia. This happened for the first time in three decades.
